This is a very charming etching on paper of a rural English street scene with row houses, it is from a book called ‘English Pictures Drawn with Pen and Pencil’ by Samuel Gosnell Manning c 1879 | The book highlighted the beauty and historical significance of various English landscapes and landmarks

This particular scene is a ‘Street in Olney’ from the book chapter called “The County of Bunyan and Cowper, The River Ouse’; Bunyan and Cowper were both early English poets and this would have been reminiscent of their surroundings

Beautifully framed under glass in its original slim burnished silver leaf frame with unique double mat; soft brown outer mat over creamy inset mat and existing back paper

Etching is titled and signed; very difficult to decipher
