Piece is beautifully framed with its original gilt textured Victorian frame and depicts a rural landscape which we know to be located in Leith, Ontario thanks to a small hand written pencil notation on the reverse ‘Leith Road’
Incredible sophisticated palette here with a muted pale palette of sophisticated pastels, c 1930
Horace Vick was born in Beeton Ontario in 1902 and was a plain air artist who lived in Owen Sound Ontario where his family owned a small business. Vick was an accomplished violinist and studied art under George Thompson, another prolific painter from the Owen Sound area as well as the incredibly talented landscape artist René-Jean Richard.

In excellent antique condition, as found; some light wear to existing gilt frame,
commensurate with age; ready to hang
