This is a large antique teal blue transfer ware wash / water pitcher; pattern is ‘TOLEDO’, marked with an impressed ‘R’ for Petrus Regout & Co., Masstricht, numbered 10

This was likely part of a larger vanity set originally.

The impressed ‘R’ is for Regout & Co., founded in 1834 in Masstricht, by Petrus Regout a Dutch industrialist who was known as ‘the pottery king’ of the Netherlands famous for blue and white transferware initially modelled after English pottery.

The ‘R’ mark indicates this is from their Early period c 1836-1880

A stunning unusual wide width / shape on this piece with beautiful surface patterning throughout; on body of pitcher, wide width hexagonal cuff neck and handle
