A RARE FIND!

This is an original fine art etching, beautifully framed under non reflective glass and signed in pencil by Swedish Canadian artist Malte Sterner (1903 - 1952), lower left

A scenic view of (most likely Canadian) trees somewhere in Vancouver or Quebec perhaps, where Malte Sterner was known to have sought after her subject matter for landscape works

Malte Sterner was born in Sweden and studied at The Royal Academy in Stockholm.
She emigrated to Canada and eventually moved to Vancouver.

Her medium of choice was dry-point etching and her subjects included sailing ships,
dogs, buildings and landscapes in Vancouver, Ontario, Montreal and Quebec City.

Beautifully framed in its original slim gilt frame and then surrounded by a classic linen
texture matte and then an additional textured frame, as found

Research indicates that most of Malte’s windswept / trees etchings were completed in and around the late 1930’s

9.75” W x 12”H x 1” D Framed | Inner frame is 5” W x 6.75” H & is flush with the outside frame
Excellent condition, as found; has existing back paper & hanging wire | Ready to hang
