Vintage blue banded Grindley Hotelware luncheon plate with lovely weighty profile & blue crest, which reads: ‘1829 PALMAM QUI MERUIT FERAT’ which translates to:
‘Let him who deserves it bear the palm’ OR
‘The person deserving the crown should wear it’
Possibly the plate is from UCC as this is the school’s logo and crest, and the date aligns with the date the school was established; 1829
Pottery marked:
‘DURALINE’ Super Vitrified GRINDLEY HOTELWARE COMPANY ENGLAND 10-70
