Gass was an idyllic landscape painter, a European academic artist who trained in Munich and lived in the baroque city of Ludwigsburg

Academic painters were known to create ‘highly polished works through the mastery of colour and form as opposed to realism’

Painting has an impressionistic style and depicts an idyllic lush green wooded waterscape

Painting is signed in the lower left corner and is oil on paper framed under antique glass within a thick wooden gilt frame; ready to hang c 1940

10.75” W x 9” H x 1.75” D Framed dimensions
In very good vintage condition, as found; glass is antique and has lovely old characteristics as such; ready to hang
