This artwork is a framed antique postcard by Stengel & Co., framed under glass

The image depicted is after the famous painting by French artist Henri Lerolle (1848-1929)
called ‘Dans La Campagne’ which translates from the French to ‘In The Countryside’ and depicts a shepherdess with her flock of sheep; lovely image and colours.

Today the actual painting is in The Musee d’Orsay but was exhibited in The Salon of 1880

Stengel & Co., was a Dresden based German printing company that became the largest postcard manufacturer in the world… founded in 1885 by Emil Stengel and Heinrich Markell

Perfect to lean or hang… pretty styled on kitchen shelf or amongst books; framed in a slim textured wood gold leaf frame

7” W x 5” H x 1” D Framed dimensions
In excellent antique condition, as found; has small brass loop hanger at top
