This is a lovely antique wicker fishing creel basket with original paint finish & unique closure c 1920’s
Traditional shape, original painted black finish (as found) and wonderful hand carved slide closure
Basket has it’s original attached flat lid with original opening in the top… these openings were to allow anglers to easily and quickly deposit caught fish without fully opening the lid
Love these for current day foraging… or useful pantry / dry goods storage such as potatoes and onions
