This is a really lovely antique transfer ware platter, by GRIMWADES, STOKE ON TRENT stamped ‘UHP EMPIRE’ & has very pretty floral / ribbon garland edge border of teal green
Original back stamp: ‘UHP’ ‘EMPIRE’, ENGLAND, UHP stands for (Upper Hanley Pottery)
This stamp was used from 1906 and on
Grimwades Pottery operated in England from 1900 until 1964
12.75” L x 9.75” W x 1.5” H
In very good vintage condition, as found; weighty & solid, ready to use: some light surface
markings on this piece & one damaged area along underside; commensurate with age
